SST39VF020 should work with standard TSOP32 adapter. No need to solder wires on adaper.

on the xbox 360 chip just make a raw dump then use the decripter program to take out the key..

othe hitachi drives wen the flash programing starts showing erros dont worrie, if you try to reflash the drive will brick...

just make a diferencial flash the drive will return a non diferencials so the drive is correct!!!!

sorry for my bad english...

Solved, i just got an email stating i wasnt actually shipped the tsop40b adapter, hence why i was having issues.
Bad_Ad84 Posted - 03/03/2009 : 05:24:16
yeah, after speaking to the person it was from (its a xbox dvd drive chip) its certainly possible the chip is damaged.

any ideas about the tsop40b adapter? and the chip i mentioned above? as i know that chip is a working one..

The ID you got from SST39VF020 is not a correct ID. The SST39VF020 is a tested and confirmed chip on GQ-4X. So, you need to check the chip again see if all pins are contacting good. If possible, use the multi-meter to check the contacting.

also, im having similar issues with M29F080A, which im pretty sure is down to using the wrong adapter.. could you just post a link to right one, so i can pick it out of the sets i have?

Other than that, im very pleased with my purchase, it programs all other chips i usually use alot faster than my para willem, once i get these 2 sorted ill be happy :)

thanks for your help so far

im getting back 8506 for the device id

The adapter should use ADP-022 only:
http://www.mcumall.com/comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=3167

Check the chip and adapter pin 1 if on the correct position. Also, confrim if the chip is not defective.

If possible, use multi-meter to check all pin contacting.

well i have the whole tsop and lpc pack.

ive tried just using the 14mm tsop32 adapter directly and tried using it in the LPC base board, it doesnt seem to get the ID correctly.. tho it gets something its not right.

Which adapter you are using?
Can you get chip the ID correctly?
How about the chip and adapter orientation?
