I'm having some problems programing a M27C801. The chip is blank.
After the programmer is done writing and verifying and doing another blank check, it gives me this.
ID check OK
Blank checking... Code
Elapsed time: 45.77 seconds.
Chip is blank
Writing... Code
Elapsed time: 228.12 seconds.
Device write completed OK
Verifying... Code
Device is verified
Elapsed time: 45.94 seconds.
ID check OK

Chip is blank

What's going on? Is there some kind of jumper I need to set on the programmer for it to program 27c801 chips?

sounds like usb port isnt providing enough power, try ac adapter on the one that fails.

Well I have the 5.0 loaded on 2 pc's. The programmer on one will burn the chip, but burns it blank. On the other using the exact same chip and exact same file, it burns fine.

Got it to work without the power supply.
I just wasn't loading the rom properly apparently. :S

FIXED, I think.
I used a external power supply, my good old sega genesis model 1 PS (DC 10V 1.2A).
I hope this power supply adapter won't do any damage in the long run?

Wondering if this could be an issue with the chip not getting enough power?

Pretty much the same thing here in the 5.0 software. Burns, but mine fails. I do a blank chip afterwards and it says the chip is blank, but then I click the code tab to make sure the file was loaded right that I was trying to burn, and all the info is there.

Tried at a slower speed, same results except for failing to verify.
