I have a Winbond w25x80*soic8

Originally I got it to ID correctly with a soic8 cable and without the SPI booster. Now its been about a week I got a new clip and the SPI booster and now it wont ID at all been messing with this thing for hours. It seems to stall (the application) up when I have power power hooked up to my motherboard. Very hit or miss and very frustrating.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Kozuka

Alright so I got in contact with John and he said,

If you powered you mother board, then the adapter ADP-056 power select jumper should select 2-3 from the target board.

Also, do not connect VCC line, only connect the chip pin 1,2,4,5,6.

Check the chip pin 3,7 and they should stay hi at any times.

Which I did and responded.

pins 3,7 Are at around 2V with a multimeter, jumpered 2-3 on in-circuit
board hooked up 1,2,4,5,6 to the spi interface. Gives a device ID of
000000

Mostly when I try and ID I get this signature length error.
