Does this part need the ADP-015 adapter on the GQ-4X or do you only need that for the PLCC version of the chip? Thanks! |

The adapter is needed due to the programmer hardware design. The GQ-4X is still be the Willem programmer family. So, the software will not fix the problem. You need the ADP-015 for sure. |

Is the adapter needed because the main unit lacks some circuitry to support this device or is it because the software has not yet been updated to support some 40 pin devices directly on the main unit? We were able to borrow another programmer to do the ones we needed and it will probably be a year before we get another need to program this particular device - so will hold off on purchasing the adapter if the device will someday be supported directly on the main unit :) . |

Yes. This chip needs ADP-015 for both DIP40 and PLCC44 chips. |
