hi there, i have bought the willem eprom programmer PCB 5.0 and i`m trying to recover or reprogram a Bios chip SST28SF040A from a Vaio NOTEBOOK, and when i try to read the contents of the chip, everything goes ok, but when i try to program the chip with the new BIOS rom,i get the message down in the status bar : "Error at 0x000058 chip=0xff buffer=0x80" and i don't know why i can't put it in the demn chip, the software version that worked the best (read the chip, ID,etc) was "Willem Eprom PCB 45(0.98D5)", i really don't know if i'm missing something with the jumpers or whatever, i have tried a lot of combinations, but nothing. I want to think that this problem is given due to the version of the software, because when i got the parcel with the programmer from eBay, the Software CD was broken for some unknown reason, so if somebody could help me , i will apreciate it!!!!!! thankss!!!!!! Charly!!!!

If your programmer is PCB5.0, then you need to use 0.98D6 version software. And you have to put jumper on the programmer to PCB5.0C position.

The PCB5.0 programmer see:
