Hi.. I have the new True USB Willem Programmer. I have it connected via a USB 2.0 port. I was told that the connection and power are all supplied by the USB port.? Well for some reason or another , the burner's program keeps telling me to Apply External Power? This is just 1 issue.. The second issue is this... I am trying to burn some old 2716 Eproms. I think they are 12.5 or 12.7 Volts each. I do a device selection , try to get the closet matching device , go to FILE and load the eprom image into buffer. I go to write the eprom , all of a sudden I keep getting Buffer errors? Somthing like 0x0000,buffer,device , you get the picture .. Now I'm not sure if it is the programmer or the Eproms that I am using. Someone mentioned to change the placement of the dip switches? This one has them , but no selector for them , I was told that it is all handled electronically on it's own. And the files that the card can handle are Binary and Hex. Which by the way , the files were transfered to my laptop via a program called CiderPress , a program that lets you open up BINARY files on a Apple II , and transfer files with in the BINARY file to the PC , which ends up as a Hex. file , I believe. I know these files work because I had an older Chipmax eprom burner and it worked likea charm! So that's basically it in a nut shell , if anyone has experienced any of the syptoms that I have , or has some suggestions as to what I am doing wrong and can point me in the correct direction on using this Eprom Programmer, I would appreciate any help.
Thanks.

First of all you have to erase the EPROM. And do a blank check before doing write. The Apply Enternal Power is the message always. It will show up even you have applied power.
If you are sure you have a blank EPROM, then you may try to use slower speed.
Make sure you inserted the chip have a correct position in ZIF socket. |
