hi, I work with 8pin sop 95c080,95c040,95160 and 27c1001 plcc32, when I erase, the program write "erase not supported for this chip", but this eproms are all eresable why?

Those chips are EEPROM. The EEPROM will be erased during the writing process. So, the chips does not need to be erased.

If you want the chip to be a blank chip, then write all FF into the chip.


The 27C1001 is EPROM. It can be erased with the UV light, not on the programmer. It needs a UV eraser to erase it.

thanks for information, but the 27c1001 plcc32 not have the windows for uv, it erase when writing?

If your 27C1001 PLCC32 has no UV window, then it is OTP (One Time Programmable) chip.

It is only can be programmed once. And can not be reused since it can not be erased.
