Hi, I'm looking at programming the Microchip PICs 16F1455 and 16F1459 on my GQ-3X programmer. There is no current support for any of those chips on the 3X, but there is one thread on this forum that talks about adding the 16F1455 to the 4X (http://www.mcumall.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5319). I've actually made these modifications in my installation folder and the device now shows up. Unfortunately the software says that it requires the ICSP/PIC adapter+ (http://www.mcumall.com/comersus/store/comersus_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4264).

So I have a few questions... Is the device file for the 16F1455 (found in the other thread) correct to use with version 5.03B of the programming software (last version that supports the 3X)? Do I really need the PIC Adapter+? Does anyone have a device file for the 16F1459?

I know this is a lot of questions, but I hope I can get all my answers.

Happy new year everyone and thanks!
Nic

On GQ-3X, you can use ICSP connector without the PIC Adapter+. ICSP connector is located at the top right of the ZIF socket. Check the chip datasheet for those ICSP pins.

This is great. Would you happen to know anything about the configuration files found in the other thread?

Thanks
Nic

Which "configuration files found in the other thread" ? All chip description files are located in device directory.
